The Girdletree Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. is totally non-profit.  We operate a 9,600 square foot firehouse.  We have 8 pieces of emergency apparatus ranging from a fire fighting-eqippied gator to a 2,500 gallon pumper/tanker combination unit.

We purchased our latest piece of apparatus in 2015 when we purchased a 4Guys/Spartan Rescue/Engine combination.  This unit carries 1,000 gallons of water, has a 1,250 GPM pump with a 6 man crew cab.  Equipped, this unit cost us $605,000.

We are funded through our own fundraising events, in part from the county by the Worcester County Commissioners, and we do receive a small amount of funding from the State of Maryland.  Donations are always welcome, and needed!

Each June we hold our annual Cash & Bike Bash which is our main fundraising event.  In the fall we host Fire Prevention Week in October as well as a Toys for Tots drive. Donations may also be brought to our station during our open house, held Sunday during fire prevention week.
